where can I buy metric cheese head screws
Hi all, I need a small quantity of M3 and M4 metric cheese head screws and after searching the web for the last two days I found them but min. quantities are 50 or 100 pieces. I did find one distributor in the UK but would still have to buy 30 pieces. MRMETRIC sold small quantities but they closed i...

Leitz 170mm TL conversion to 160mm TL conversion
In 2015 I posted about my effort to convert my Dialux 170mm TL scope to 160mm TL. The reason for the conversion was I bought the 170mm TL Dialux stand with no head, eyepieces or objectives and I had 160mm eyepieces and objectives. So I bought a Leitz 160mm trinocular head and started working on the ...

Leitz APO 8mm Apochromat 24X/0.65 Objective
I'm considering buying this lens but have no idea what 8mm means and it has no 160 or 170 marking. So, what Leitz tube length scope will this lens work with, and what does 8mm mean?
Thanks,
henryr

Re: Leitz head needing some work
The interpupillary adjustment is now easy and as smooth as butter. The process included positioning the head on its side and putting a few very small drops of Hoppes #9 gun oil at the edges of the interface of the dovetails. I let it sit overnight and then did the same to the other side. I then exer...

Re: Leitz head needing some work
I have a rather similar Leitz trinoc head. I doubt they are altogether unlike in construction. Access to mine is a piece of cake: first remove the dust collar at the root of the photo tube (three tiny Allen screws) & lift it off. -Karl Mine is model 512738 and is quite different. Each eyepiece tube...

Leitz head needing some work
The interpupillary distance adjustment on my 160mm TL trinocular head is sticky and requires more effort than it should. How can I get access to clean and lube the slides? And can the four screws securing each eyepiece tube be removed, without disengaging anything else, so I can get better access to...

Re: Leitz Achr 0.90
So I was looking at another spare Achr 0.90 flip-out lens and it has many black specks that are not on the front or back surfaces. Is this made up of two lens? Is there a way to disassemble this lens? I would gladly attempt to clean it because in its present condition it is worthless.

Leitz ACHR 0.90 S1.1
I've been cleaning my work area and came across a Leitz condenser swing-out lens marked Germany ACHR 0.90 S1.1. The thread diameter is to large for my dialux and old black SM-M and I've done a few searches and can't find any info. Does anyone know what scope this was made for? It is excellent condit...

Re: looking for laborlux D manual
I finally broke down and bought the manual for $10. So I thought I would share it but when I try to add it as a pdf or word doc, I get the message that the file is to large. Anyone know a way around this?

I've searched all the usual sites for a laborlux D manual with no luck. Does anyone have a copy or know where to get one?

Re: Leitz trinoc head 42mm 512/738
So, considering the docs are truly not accessible, can someone tell me how to get access to the dovetails on my Leitz 512/738 trinoc head. The movement is very stiff like that of my AO series 10 trinoc head prior to applying hoppes #9 gun oil to the dovetails, but I don't want to just inject the oil...

Re: Leitz trinoc head 42mm 512/738
Where did Leitz hide its service manuals? There seems loads of info on AO, Olympus and Nikon with schematics ect.. Did Leitz produce similar documents?

Leitz trinoc head 42mm 512/738
This question is related to the trinoc head 512/738, with 42mm dovetail, that I used to convert my 170mm TL dialux to 160mm TL. I first posted about that conversion in Oct. 2015. Now I want to clean the internal optics and an exploded view would be helpful. I've spent many hours, reading many of the...
