Re: knobs for 2 mm square shaft

I'm pretty sure your goniometer head is a Huber, not a Charles Supper. See: https://www.xhuber.com/en/products/4-accessories/goniometer-heads/manual-versions/ In a previous life I used these for x-ray diffraction studies. You adjusted the heads with a "key" that came with the head. They got lost, an...

Re: Excellent Report on the Vivitar/Tokina 90mm f/2.5 Macro Lens Series!

I acquired a nice copy of a Vivitar 90mm and 1:1 adapter with the Canon FD mount. My question regards the green circle on the aperture scale after f/22. I found a copy of the user manual for the lens online. The only reference to the green "O" is as follows: "Canon Mount lenses have a click stop at ...

Re: Cheap New Mitutoyo M Plan 5X

Well, I pulled the trigger on a Lightglass Mitutoyo 5X and got it today. I won't be able to do anything with it for a while, but it looks very good, brand new. The carton was sealed. The model number ends in a "-6", indicating it is the most recent version. The glass is pristine. Even the case looks...

Sorry for not searching before posting. Looks like it is legitimate. I think I might go for one.

Cheap New Mitutoyo M Plan 5X

I came across some Mitutoyo M Plan 5X objectives from a place called Lightglass Optics being sold as "NEW and sealed in their factory Mitutoyo box" for $420. (See http://www.lightglassoptics.com/Mitutoyo-M-Plan-Apo-5X-Objective-_p_789.html ). They currently have 48 of these. Lightglass appears to ca...

This Just Seems Strange

I hesitated even posting this. It just seemed strange. I buy a reasonable number of things on eBay. I often see items that seem over priced, but if somebody is willing to pay the price, I guess that is what it is worth. A couple days ago an eBay search for Thorlabs SM2 tubes came up with this listin...

Re: Stitching Software Needed

I haven't used Microsoft ICE. Support of it by MS seems to have ended with Win 8.1. Microsoft has a history of putting out interesting and useful utilities that aren't kept up. ICE will probably be one of those. If there is a minimal learning curve, I'd give it a try. I've used PTGui for years. Norm...

V38 on both sides of lens

I wasn't sure if this is what Robert was trying to say in his earlier post, but I received my Mejiro today and found the both sides of the lens has a V38 connector. You have to remove the shroud which contains the label from the front of the lens, similar to a SK Makro-Iris. There are four set screw...

Still

I would encourage you to consider a continuous feed still. Figuring out when to rebuild your DI column and having to do it seems like a pain. In the dark ages when I was a chemist, our lab only used DI water for basic use (washing glassware). We redistilled it for serious stuff. The DI system had el...

Thanks. I found the post:

https://www.photomacrography.net/forum/ ... ejiro+90mm

The V-Mount is SK V-38 compatible as long the adapter has enough depth. I have a few Thorlab 52mm tubes. I have to consider Robert's internal mount method.

Mounting

Chris's spec sheet lists the mount as "V-mount (38mm)". I'm hoping it is compatible with the Schneider V-38 mount.

Looks like there is no filter thread. I suspect getting a thread on the front of the lens will require a search for the right threaded tube, a lathe job or both.

Upgrade Details

I recently acquired a Schneider 50mm f/4 enlarge lens in the B00 iris mounts. I'd like to do this iris mount transplant with my Schneider 28mm f/4 to create a f2.0. I've never dismantled a lens other than replacing a shutter on a view camera lens. I have the proper tools and I've watched a number of...

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've been experimenting with stacked lenses. I make ever effort to focus the tube lens as sharply as possible on a distant object, at infinity. When you say "short focus, that is past infinity", I take it you mean focus to infinity and then bring the lens in t...

I don't want to beat this subject into the ground, but I found another possibility, an ultra-low reflective adhesive back foil. It's available from Edmund ( http://www.edmundoptics.com/lab-production/general-tools/acktar-light-absorbent-foil/3634/ ), but it is quite expensive. A 200mm x 300mm sheet ...

Chris Was your comment about using graphene a joke? Graphene oxide sheet is very expensive and I'm not clear about how easy it is to handle. I've found graphene reinforced rubber sheet on Amazon (see http://smile.amazon.com/Vor-flex-Ultra-Strength-Graphene-Reinforced-Rubber/dp/B00JX0B5AC/ref=pd_sim_...
