(I haven't read it all, my eyes tend to glaze over.. :smt101 but the solitary bee pollination behaviour is descibed from just above the page number 635. ) http://hortsci.ashspublications.org/content/41/3/633.full.pdf which shows how ...

Nic and ChrisR, thanks for the comments/pointers... A bit late with my reply, well old to new things you know... When 'dissecting' the flower, I found out that it are indeed pollen, coming from hidden filamentless stamen..... Awaiting new flowers to come on this patch off violas for maybe a bit high...

After stacking the last viola's, I spotted some transparant girder like 'structures' on the flowers. My initial guess was that these are just broken off parts from the little 'spikes', but thats probably to easy an answer...., I have not yet taken any higher magnification shots, hence the 100% crop....

Awaiting some 'new arrivals' , I played a bit with this NOS..., with a little bonus this time. The 'big chief' always watches me carefully when I am around 'new' arrivals, …. {-X Sounds like you have previous in this regard or why else would the 'posy police' be on your case? Guilty as charged, perhaps... :) Yep, I admit, guilty as charged... {-o<. But, to my defense, I occasionally buy some...

…..The Lomo results are actually what drove me to post this. I ran across the results on my hard drive and realized that not only had completely forgotten about the great results but that I never posted the findings! You actually did post some results see: http://www.photomacrography.net/fo...

I wonder what is the magnification? Edit: I see Robert got 3.7 x with the Lomo on this Makro-Symmar. I wonder if that was with the Makro-Symmar focussed at infinity or focused in such a way as to achieve 3.7x? I assume the latter. Maybe you did the same thing? Or maybe you used the Makro-Symmar foc...

Thanks for the comment ChrisR. That is really good at 100%. I'm excited to see how well this finite lens performs when stacked on the Makro-Symmar. As said before, I can not compare with other objectivs in this range, but I like it !! I am the limiting factor here, its all I can squeeze out right no...
