Checking interest: motorized Leitz Orthoplan

I have a Leitz Orthoplan that I have not been using that I am planning to sell. This stand has a motorized focus drive and motorized XY stage controlled by a LUDL MAC5000. This is a rather unusual combination and thought it might be of interest to someone here before I broke up the set and sold it o...

Gauging interest in Axioplan 2 imaging

Hello, I have both a motorized inverted and motorized upright scope and I am debating selling the upright if there is interest on here. It is a Zeiss Axioplan 2 imaging with motorized focus, fluorescence reflector turret, nosepiece, and XY stage. I have a wide array of lenses and can configure this ...

Wanted Zeiss Jena Amplival

Hi all,

I recently purchased a complete Interphako device with no stand to mount it on. I am looking for an Amplival rather than an Ergaval due to the size and weight of the Interphako. There are a few potential candidates on eBay, but I wanted to check here first.

Thanks!

Hi Dan,

If you can post a picture of the scope, it will help us point you in the right direction. For Pol work, you really only need a polarizer and an analyzer. The wave plate and rotary stage are just an added bonus.

Are you looking to buy a new Z6 or have you found one for sale used? If new, the cost will be considerable and I would suggest looking at the Zeiss Axio Zoom.V16. This scope features a NA of 0.25 with the 1x lens and a 16x zoom range, all at 56mm of working distance. Also a macro or zoom scope, like...

Thanks for the comments. I will work on capturing a video of this critter as it seems to not be very common - at least not in the morphology that is seen here.

Unknown freshwater ciliate

Hi all, I found this lobed ciliate in my freshwater fish tank. For the life of me, I cannot place an ID on it. There were a number of these in the sample, so I am confident that it is not being distorted under the coverslip. Sorry, I didn't bother to clean up the images. 63x/1.2 C-Apo Any thoughts? ...

Amphileptus?

Found this big guy in a marine sample (possibly brackish). It was very fast and a challenge to document. When fully extended, it is around 180um long. Any thoughts as to an ID? EDIT: I think this may be Amphileptus because of the large number of peritrichs also found in this sample. 63x/1.2 W C-apo ...

Haematococcus

It has been a very long time since I posted anything... Finally got some time to play on the scope again. California is severely lacking in ditches, ponds, and bogs to collect samples from. This is from a batch of sphagnum I grabbed from the Santa Cruz mountains the last time it rained around 6 mont...

Dinoflagellate and fungus?

Hi all, I have a very rancid freshwater sample that was derived from flooded some tree-borne sphagnum branches. I can't say that I have ever seen this before, but there were more than one found in this sample, so I think it is "something"... Any ideas? 63x/1.2 W C-Apochromat DIC z-stack http://img.p...
