Yes the "simply" I like.ChrisR wrote:I look forward to seing the movie sometime
And of course if you wanted more resolution you could "simply" run a stack at each interval, as you've given yourself the option in the optics at least..

About the camera macro focus (RSS Macro Focuser). (Really Right Stuff) I could do better here. This macro focusing slider has some problems.... For precise detail work, it becomes loose and floppy between the time you loosen the knob, adjust, and re-tighten. It does this even worse when mounted ver...

There are dedicated image analysis systems that can take into account all of these things that rjlittlefield and pau mention once calibrated properly to be able to measure the true dimensions. If it is for work and you get paid for it then maybe try contacting a university which has a image analysis...

Sirs, here is my solution, I use fixed stuff instead of bellows. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7087/6975043604_3bd6f081ce.jpg Flickr ? yanyading ? Olympus CH-2 Microscope with Tube (Projective Eyepiece Inside), Canon 350D and Angle Viewfinder. The result is also good. http://farm7.staticflickr.com/...

Mitutoyo Long working distance objectives and apertures
Talking about resolution, yes the mitutoyo X5 f=200mm long working distance plan apochromat has a stated resolution of 2um. Ok so this lens is not being used under the ideal conditions of a true microscopy set up to measure resolution, however, with the aperture inserted and affecting the lens NA, I...

Hi, before using this setup, (and I still regularly use the following) 105mm macros, 60mm macros, extension tubes, same lighting as shown or more powerful LED light systems developed by me as well. Yes I could have invested in bellows etc but never did. I guess coming from the microscope side i want...

mitutoyo Long working distance objectives and apertures
Here is another shot using the X5 Mitutoyo f=200mm long working distance objective with an iris diaphragm.
The ommatidia are resolved more than enough for HD video. BTW no sharpening algorithms applied.

Absolutely agree there, as i taught this stuff at uni too LOL. But i guess for what I'm doing, the resolution I require is more than adequate for HD video. i don't try and stop down too far past the 2.5 mark on the iris from Edmund as the image does indeed degrade and of course the lighting can beco...

Here are some stills from time-lapse sequences using X2 and X5 Mitutoyo f=200mm objective long working distance lenses with a tech spec iris diaphragm mounted within the infinity space of this lens. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/3924_X2Mitutoyo_DSC_00004_1.jpg http://www.photomacrogr...

Mitutoyo Long working distance objectives and apertures
Hi this is really a two fold post. Firstly a huge thank you to everyone here who has posted about using Mitutoyo objectives. Secondly a big thank you (i think I already have thanked but I'll do it again) to Chris Slaybaugh for all his posts about his "Brat Cam". I've been a lurker on this site for a...
