Ménage a trois.

Lost traveller

Now this is interesting. On Saturday afternoon I spotted a jumping spider on my windowsill, it was obvioulsy not British or indeed European. Turns out it is Australian, Helpis occidentalis. How it got to be on a windowsill in rural Suffolk, England, will most likely forever be a mystery. Is this a r...

Excellent images, many thanks! I had no idea that this species even lived in the UK.
Thank you. They are pretty common, found this one whilst moving some paving slabs but have found several in woodpiles too.

Re: Metellina segmentata

That is exceptionally nice! What machine would provide handheld stacks of a subject hanging in the breeze? No machine, just a bean bag and moment with no breeze :D Excellent shot. Would you mind explaining how you use the bean bag? Just support the camera and lens on a small bean bag, the sort you ...

Does the 5D Mk4 performs by itself focus bracketing for stacking?

No, not as standard. These shots were all taken by moving a fraction forward between each image. In this case I used a small beanbag to support the camera and enable smooth movement.

Nice capture Frank. intrigued by the change in background, was she dragging fly back to a lair? I have a small fossil shell that on the inside has a sandy concretion of red crag deposit, that is the pebbly lloking background. After a couple of stack sets she got tired of the flash strobing so she t...
