may i ask if someone has tried the Nikon CFI BE 4X with a major distance than the standard needed?

ist it possible to use it to reach 6X .. 9X magnification without significant problems?

i am trying using a heavy block of beech i spared from the construction of my workbench.

first results are good till now, but i am exploring only the 4x world till now.

i added another hole to put the newport directly onto the beech.

i am going to take a heavy piece of wood as a base for my macro stacks, more or less 50cmx20cmx5cm.

you can find screw 1/4" (or 3/8") and fix your rail on the base.
you should reach a good stability.
