could that be another diatom secreted on the lower right hand side quarter way up.

To reiterate Lou Jost posting..The standard trick that tropical biologists use is to put it in a bag with very dry rice, and seal it.

try this first, just leave for a few days.

Working with Canon Eos 3, extra battery holder. then Canon Eos 10d with battery holder and grip. carried over 7 years and always worked with a mono pod. Thank you for the info, I do like that blue shade though, at first i guessed at a halo effect but on closer inspection could see how wrong that was.
