Nikon microscope parts for sale on ebay

I am not a dealer but have accumulated a large amount of microscope parts but due to continuing health problems, I have decided to now sell. I am having to give up my love of macro/micro photography and have dismantled my macro...

Hi Paul, Are you using your flash in TTL mode or manual? You only need a tiny amount of flash power close up and that looks like a fairly powerful flash, and TTL doesn't work very well close up as the flash sensor has to read the reflected light and may not be in a good position to do that. If you a...

Hi, Assuming this is the lens you have (I found it on eBay so it may be the very one) there is one little clue that you didn't mention in your post, and that is the apostrophe after the second H like this H' http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/2664__57_2.jpg On a typical ray diagram the le...

Hi, A macro set up is good for 1x to 5x but beyond that you will need to use a microscope objective on your camera. Read this excellent FAQ which explains your options. FAQ: How can I hook a microscope objective to my camera? At 10x and above the depth of field is very small so to get any kind of us...

Hi Aidan, I'm a relative novice with DIC but I have had reasonable success with a Nikon Optiphot materials microscope with a DIC set up. So whilst others may know a lot more than me about DIC, I can share what I have learned so far. Firstly the polarising filters need to crossed at 90 degrees to ach...

Exhibition prints (Image added)

I thought I would share these images with you that I submitted to a local exhibition in a gallery. The exhibition was titled "Art of Type" and had work from a number of artists on the theme of type, fonts, words and letters. My exhibit was a collection of letters from objects I had around the house,...

Thanks for the info Pau. I have to confess I'm a complete novice when it comes to insects. The little blobs aren't water so I will try cleaning in alcohol and see what it looks like then.

Beetle wing case at 50x

This is the first test using this objective which is only temporarily set up for brightfield epi. Image is of a jewel beetle wing case where the two come together on the back. You can just see the edge at the top. Nikon CFI Plan 20x 0.4 BD ELWD, Nikon CF PL 2.5x, ZS Dmap. The stack could have been a...
