Re: Lens with fungus and effect on image quality
Has anyone tried a desperate solution to recover a fungal lens? I am thinking of submerging for a long time, would a week be enough? the lens in isopropyl alcohol, so that it penetrates everywhere. And later let it dry for a long time, to ensure that all the alcohol completely evaporates. I think it...

Re: Does anyone change a x10?
Today I have printed a new housing in order to mount the lens I use as tube lens in its reverse position and the spherical aberrations disappear magically!

Re: Bellows repair with new plastic dovetail inserts
I printed the pieces for our friend Pau. I made them in PLA. It is a very hard, fragile plastic and I am afraid not with a good coefficient of friction. But printing in nylon, with better sliding characteristics, was not in my possibilities. Maybe now I would try printing it in resin, which gives be...

Re: Does anyone change a x10?
Yes. I love the background defocused. This show better the main mineral. But l want smooth defocused surfaces, no artifacts that ad irreal details. But I can do the blur after, in the process.
If all the image is good focused, these artifacts do not appear.

Re: Does anyone change a x10?
Using an objective lens from a small binocular and the 3D printer I have easily manufactured the coupling between the infinity objective and my photography system. It works well and respects my distances, although the scale of the image is somewhat lower than what I achieved with the finite x10. But...

Re: Does anyone change a x10?
"You might want to think about mounting a doublet behind the 10x and treating the whole package like a finite objective, would be easy with 3d printing or real machining."
This really sound as a very good idea. I have several small doublets in the drawers..
Thanks!

Does anyone change a x10?
I have a x10 M PLAN APO L 10/0.28 infinity lens. It doesn't seem to be of poor quality, but I'm not going to use it, because my entire system is prepared to work with non-infinite objectives. I would like to exchange it for an acceptable, finite, LWD x10. Now I use a normal lens but I find it diffic...

It is the best macro I see for use with a smartphone! I testes several lenses but the distance to the object is so small that I can light it

A long time ago we had a (not very pleasant) conversation here about building a cheap sliding stand for taking microphotographs. At that time I proposed a very simple one, with two wooden plates and some drawer guides. A little PAP motor almost like a toy and an M6 threaded rod. Years later, and wit...

Re: Fujifilm X-H2S, any thoughts/users?
I have the X-T2 in my microscope and iḿ very happy with the quality. Is not so easy to use that my DRLS Canon, but really no too many parameters need to be controled in order to have a fine final pictures.
