Re sizing an image
Greetinga All! Many thanks for your suggestions and info. Chris S. Have tried the Bruce Kelby method and enlarged it to A1 with quite good results. Will have a closer look in daylight tomorrow. Lou Jost The 4x D Plan has a NA of 0.10 while the 10x S Plan Apo has a NA of 0.40. Unfortunately I did not...

Re sizing an image
Christmas Greeting to All! I wonder if someone can tell me how best to enlarge an image without showing the pixels. I use a BH2 microscope with D Plan objectives except for the 10x which is S Plan Apo plus a Canon EOS 50D so 15MBs. Since art is my concern the enclosed crystals have been Photoshopped...

Hello ray-parkhurst and Geopressure. Many thanks for coming to the rescue of this guy and his senior moments! Yes, once I found the button on the camera it goes from normal, 5x and 10x. Think it will take some getting used to as even at 5x it is quite grainy, but at least I have the choice. Thanks, ...

Magnifying function in LiveView on new Canon Cameras
Hello Everyone ! I'm currently using an EOS 50D on an Olympus BH2 w polariser to photograph micro crystals. Am pleased with it but have never been able to make use of the magnifying function, certainly not to focus. Recently have read about this function on the T6i or 750D being used to focus. While...

Safe transmission of photos
Hello Enrico, Thanks for coming to the rescue. Must admit I don't know anything about HTTPS servers but I will look in to it. And then as Anoldsole said, it's just a case of making it as difficult as poss to steal but as easy as poss to view. Somewhere where those two unlikely bed fellows meet. Than...

Software for safe transmission of photos

What do you find is the safest way, which will protect your copyright but also get them to the client quickly??? Yes, I know I could email low res p...

Hello Pau, That's interesting to learn about the 1.6x mag of the FF camera. Might just upset the habit of using 4x or 10x because they give best results with crystals. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1322_20150917_unknown_Crystal__ZS_PMax_1.jpg http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/use...

Latest Canon EOS cameras
Greetings All, Am using a Canon Eos 50D for photomicrography of micro crystals and am pleased with the results. Just wonder, however, with all the new cameras appearing if there is anything better. Has anyone any experience with the EOS 6D mark ll or the 5DS R? What would be the result of using a fu...

Growing crystals in a vacuum
Hello Guys,
Just wonder if anyone has tried to grow crystals in a vacuum and if this might flatten the crystal and hence reduce the number of slices in stacking?
Best wishes,
MacroB

D PLAN and S PLAN Apo objectives
Hello Everyone,
Have been using them for a while now but would appreciate if someone could explain what the D in D Plan objective and S in S Plan Apochromatic mean.
I did do a search and understand the PLAN and the Apo but could not find what the D and S stood for.
Best wishes for Christmas.
Bob
