Re: Looking for a compact, rugged camera

Should be compact enough to fit in a pocket or fanny pack pouch without being obtrusive. Definitely not anything like a removable lens DLSR or even mirrorless. $100-$400 range. I have a Gopro Session 4, which is very tiny, but not that easy to work with as a still camera, and definitely not macro ca...

Looking for a compact, rugged camera

Looking for a compact, rugged camera with good macro and low light capability. Any recommendations? Don't want it to be so expensive I have to cry myself to sleep if something happens to it. Will be carried on off road motorcycle trips through rugged terrain. I'm looking at Olympus TG-6. Any other r...

monochrome 2D depth map from stereo pair?

What's the easiest way to get a monochrome 2D depth map from a stereo pair? Can Zerene produce this output to an exported file? Or does it exist as an intermediate result? Are there any algorithms in public space that could be utilized in a custom SW app? Or stand alone apps that just do this? I am ...

Ha, I just saw a setting that says 'All in focus' -takes two shots to create 1 in-focus photo. Better remember about that one.

I don't see any option to shoot pro and raw in the default Android app, though I do get a raw option with Lightroom.

I supposedly can do raw with the Lightroom mobile app. When I tried to use it it wanted me to log in to adobe first but there was no service where I was at. So I did not get a raw image, but I tried. Photo was taken in landscape mode so I don't know what effect portrait mode could have, or are you t...

Phone is Moto G7. Android 9. Photo app is the default app that comes with Android.

HDR is set to on, but it seems it would be a foul for HDR to be messing with the focus even it is taking multiple exposures.

What's going on in this photo?

This is a not too great Android cell phone photo taken with the default photo app. Can anyone explain to me why the foreground is sharp, and the background is sharp, but the mid ground is blurry?

Yes there is. This is an oyster mushroom. Went riding on my CR500 up into the woods behind my house specifically to explore for more mushrooms. We hit the jackpot and harvested only a portion and got 12.5 lbs. These are on fallen birch logs of which some are supported on other debris above the groun...

Yes does look like Lemna sp. and Azolla filiculoides. They are dispersed so evenly over the whole pond I assumed they must be different parts of the same organism. Of note is other ponds in the same area all have the green one but none of the red one.
