Shield Bug (Pentatomidae)

Post by mjkzz »

I do not want to name this bug, I do not know :D

While testing a new rail built from open source parts, all off the shelf except electronics, someone challenged me to use it for stacking so I did, it turns out pretty good, too.

Using Mitutoyo 5x 0.14 + Raynox 250, so magnification is about 3.125x, step size is 25um, not bad for a belt driven rail.

It's a shield bug (order Hemiptera), but it's difficult to see which genus... this one has nice iridescent metallic colors.
