M43 lens for afocal photomicrography Sigma 30mm

Post by zzffnn »

For sale is a good condition Sigma 30mm F/2.8 DN Lens For Micro Four Thirds (current generation Olympus and Panasonic) cameras.

It works well with 10x microscope visual eyepiece. I connect it with eyepiece using step down lens adapter ring and super glue. Typical images produced this way can be found in this thread: http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/v ... ight=sigma

Lens glass is in very good to like new condition. I saw 3 tiny specks of internal dust, which you may see even from new lenses. Image quality is very good and not affected by dust. Quite sharp wide open and nice bokeh.

Lens's metal shell has quite many scratches.

Lens works like new. Focus and aperture mechanism works perfectly in auto or manual mode. Lens focuses 0.3 meters (or 0.98 feet) to infinity.

A Panasonic back lens cap and a friction mount front cap is included. I lost the original caps.

Per online specification, this lens has:

Double-sided aspherical elements;
an inner focusing system;
Sigma’s Super Multi-Layer Coating;
telecentric optical design;

Lens construction = 7 elements in 5 groups
Closest focusing distance = 0.3m / 11.8 in.
Maximum image magnification = 0.12x
(0.24x : 35mm equivalent)
Filter size = 46mm
Dimensions = ?60.8 x 40.5mm / ?2.4 x 1.6 in.
Weight = 140g / 4.9 oz.

Reason for selling is that I don't use it much, as I prefer faster manual lenses at 30mm focal length, or simply use a zoom lens.

Local inspection and pick up at 77546 Friendswood Texas is possible. Shipping at cost from US Post Office.
