Clip Over Edge XY?

Post by dolmadis »

Hi

I have an XY on a stage which does not move a slide laterally due to a missing part which locates on the stage and the claw wraps around one end of a slide.

To rescue the stand what I want to do to is find an XY mechanism which will clip over the edge of the stage and be secured by a thumb screw.

I can't find one, although I have seen these in the past, and I wonder if any member has any suggestions for a source.

The suggestions can helpfully extend to other solutions if any spring to mind as others must have encountered this problem before.

Many thanks

I don't know about these specifically, but I have handled a few other microscope parts currently made in India, and their mechanical quality was not satisfactory. Certainly not on a level with the original Laboval (Zeiss Jena) scopes.

PS - My preferred solution would be waiting out until a suitable Zeiss Jena stage with micrometer, or even a complete stand "for parts" becomes available.
