Got this handsome moth the other evening. I think it might be of genus Ethmia

I'd guess Hypercompe scribonia - Giant Leopard Moth, for example at

Some of the Ethmia have similar black/white patterns, but they're much smaller, only around 1" wingspan when spread.

Thanks, Rik. I checked the gallery at https://www.google.com/search?q=Giant+L ... 20&bih=985 and found your ID to be correct. Now onward to the detail photography starting with the head. It has a nice compact proboscis.
