Midge eggs

Post by Charles Krebs »

Seen and photographed these before. A fair number are present in my outdoor "tank". I believe they are from a species of biting midge (Ceratopogonidae).

20X, 20X and 50X.

Hi Charles,

Ceratopogonidae should be correct. These might be eggs of the genus Dasyhelea but I am not sure.

Regards

Christian
