Wanted to buy Nikon S series Water immersion Objectives

Post by Choronzon »

They are marked W (magnification) with S above the magnification.
For the older S series Nikon microscopes from the 60's and 70's

Wow, I have never heard or seen them before, until this thread of yours. They must be pretty rare? I did see modern DIN water objectives very often.

I am guessing you want to collect them as a collector, as opposed to wanting that water immersion functionality? I am pretty sure you know LOMO water immersion objectives work beautifully on Nikon S (since their parfocal distance is only slightly longer than 1mm).

I guess you mean water immersion, not water dipping... also, while it seems this would be "S" vintage, I guess it isn't, since it doesn't have an "S'.

I think it is, Mike, just missing the S as Nikon was not always consistent.
And yes, I want to use these on my M inverted

I can see oil or water immersion on an inverted, but true water dipping? :?

Anyway, this objective belongs to Steve West - I can let him know if you are interested in purchasing it.
