Hi,
Has anybody tried to remove some of the outer plastic casing of the Raynox DCR macro adapters?
Is it possible to isolate the optics assembly undamaged while reducing the external diameter through the removal of the casing?
Kind regards, Ichty
Raynox DCR 250/150 teardown possible?

Yes, that works fine. See http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/v ... 536#186536 and the follow-up posting by etalon (Markus), later in the same thread.

Hi Rik,
Thank you very much. That looks good.
"With the label removed, it appears that the optics are glued into an inner module, which is then fastened by four ribs to a larger ring, which finally is screwed into the 49mm thread."
Has anyone tried to takes this further and take the "larger ring" out of the plastic casing?
Kind regards, Ichty
