New lanthar macro lens
I wonder if this will be in other mounts. Certainly as an E mount user I will be looking forward to reviews of this new offering:

OLympus ED 50mm F2 Macro ( for 4/3 DSLR) also has a front element with, as you put it, negative concavity.I have never seen a lens with a negative-concavity front element before.

A picture of the new lens is out. The lens is planned for release next year:
Apparently this website claims Voightlander is aiming to keep up with the reputation of the 125mm, and are designing the new issue to be the best macro available

I am saving my pennies, but won't pull the trigger on the lens until I have seen some decent educated reviews. I like lou Jost am a little concerned about the probable 1-2 maximum magnification. Knowing some of the recent issues from voigtlander if it is 1-2 then they may go "old-school" and offer a 1-1 adapter separately.

I think they once offered a special front close-up lens for one of their older lenses (maybe the 90?). A close-up lens would not lower the effective aperture, so that would be the preferred solution if it were well-made and matched to the lens. The big attraction of the lens is its large aperture, f2, and it would be nice to preserve that as much as possible in our never-ending quest to cheat diffraction.

Looks like its finally arrived. I will still be awaiting reviws as sometime back a review of the prototype suggest some issues with CA:
