24mm microscope post

Post by DavidG1980 »

Hello all,
does anyone know where to get a 24mm diameter microscope post and possibly a base?
I found the amoscope on ebay but they are listed as 32mm.
Thanks

CNC cylindrical rails are my favorite source for precision stainless steel rods, but 24 mm is an unusual diameter (25 mm is common). I cannot exclude that some sellers of CNC parts carry the 24 mm rails, but I cannot find any on eBay at the moment.

24 mm precision seamless stainless steel tubes are easier to find, but I don't know how precise the diameter is. They may also be less stiff than solid rods, but I have seen some with 5mm or 7 mm thick walls, which might be stiff enough for a stereomicroscope.
