Crab Spider on Fleabane and Lady Bugs

Post by Ken Ramos »

I have lots of Fleabane growing at the edge of the yard where the woods begin. It seems that Crab Spiders really enjoy hanging out on the flowers.

These two were quite comical in trying to mate. The one on the bottom wasn't slowing down for any kind of foolishness and was traveling in a spiral along the stem of the plant.

Don't know Doug, haven't given it much thought, the larger format is nice but I guess I am just used to 640x480 and besides the images don't have to be automatically resized in my word processor, I keep a pictorial journal with research notes on my subjects. Thanks Doug! :D

Either that is one small flower, or that is one big spider

Both images are great Ken and you have a nice background for them too.

Fleabane is quite a small flower, only about 2cm in dia. and the spider was about three quarters that. Yeah I kind of like the backgrounds too, especially the one for the spider. You should have seen the goings on with the Lady Bugs though, it would have raised a chuckle. Thanks Sue :D
