And there is a Polarization included in the lower stage AH2-NAS.
- Just put it in the P-position.
Here you can see the positions of the DIC, O (brightfield) and P (polarization) values.
- Then remove the DIC from the top.
- Insert a piece of linear filter on a slide and place it in the empty slot (where you just removed the DIC)
This is a linear filter i removed from some old 3D glasses.
The few millimeter you have to shift or rotate the slide is enough to find the correct position.
Remember, the lower polarization filter cannot be adjusted.
Maybe some testing is required to find the right direction of the linear filter.
Hold it in the lightbeam just above your specimen.
If it turns dark, that is the way you want to insert it.
Voila, polarizer. No more need for the hard to find and expensive AH-ANF.
