New Specimen Holder for Horizontal macro rig.

Post by Vish_007 »

This project is still a “work in progress”, so far I made horizontal rail for Stackshot / Nikon bellow and specimen holder. StackShot rail rests on Manfrotto 454 which is bolted on to aluminum rail. Plan is to add LED ring illuminator and fiber optic guide for flash.

Material:

Aluminum railing = 3 inch, 80/20 aluminum extrusion (part # 3034 – lite)
Specimen holder –graduated microscope stage modified to fit into the aluminum flat stock (6061 and 2024, 1/2 inch thick). The post itself rests on linear bearing made of 80/20 segment. Actual spermine is mount is a alligator clip attached to magnet base for unlimited control on the specimen angle etc.

More to follow.... :)
