Greetings all - I have been quiet for a while, and am about to share info with some friends.
When shooting a focus stack is it better to move the camera closer - like on a rail, or is it better to move the point of focus while keeping camera in the same place ? Please advise pro's and cons !

I've done both (DSLR Controller and Wemacro) and I find the rail far more versatile.
I have a variety of optical options, some of which require specific solutions.
While focus shifting works quite well with my Tokina 100mm macro lens, it's impossible with my reversed 50mm Minolta manual lens on manual tubes and my 4x and 10x Amscope objectives on a bellows.
