Terrible Cognisys StackShot offset, help needed to remove it

Post by fabelfroh »

Hi all,

I attached the Cognisys Stackshot to the fine drive of a microscope. I configured it to start from "100" and do 35 shots between the markings "100" and "10". However, when running the program there is a terrible offset. StackShot does not start at "100" but at approx "104" and finishes correctly at "10".

I also made a demonstration video that illustrates the problem:

So far, I was unable to disable the offset and make StackShot start at the desired point regardless of settings. I tried everything, different settings, different setups, different programs. Maybe someone in this forum can help me?

Thanks and best wishes

Hi and welcome aboard,

Just a quick quess, from your video this might be the backlash setting in Stackshot.

Best,

I completely missed the "advanced settings" that are only available when you press the config button three seconds...

A quick look in the manual and setting "backlash" to zero solved the problem.

A thousand thanks. :)

Hi fabelfroh,
Thanks for bringing this up, you solved my mystery with Stackshot.
I´m mainly using it for micro minerals with Mitu optics.

Now, next time Ill press the "config" button for 3 seconds :P

Thank you too!
Kind Regards
Harald
