Robert,

What about the new Nikon Z7 mirrorless?

Best,
Research is like a treasure hunt, you don't know where to look or what you'll find!

Originally I went with the A6300 just to try out the Sony system/mount and I like everything about it so the A7 series is looking better and better I have to admit.

Hi Mike,
I would prefer the A7000

because its sensor (probably 31,4mp) matches better to the microscope lenses.

Looks good. And I expect it to work with Imaging Edge software, which I found very easy to use.

Hi Mike, I did play with one during a hands-on preview and I liked it overall but the lack of high resolution mode for the price made it a easy to give it a pass.

Honestly in opinion, having shot Nikon since the 80s (and Canon BTW) it almost seems like was released too early. The Z8 hopefully can rival Sony but the Z7 has a long way to go I think. The AF system for one is a big step backwards for example where Sony's AF system is amazing.

A new release shouldn't make it easier for someone what has shot Nikon for 40 years to buy a new Sony but thats what the Z does for me. The F-mount > Z adapter is $249, thats almost half of what the A6300 cost me.

That does look good!

Sony's new body development team must never sleep!
