Tube for Nikon objective

Post by Harald »

Hi there,
I have a Nikon objective.
It says: Nikon Plan APO 0.4 160/0.17 10x
Can I use my 70-200 f/2.8 as a tube @160 for this objective on my Eos 7D?
Kind Regards
Harald

You'll get an image, but as you'll know it should be used without a "tube" lens. Your tube length will be well off, (by infinity minus 160mm ;) ), NA0.4 is enough for that to notice.
That objective has rather a short WD iirc?

I think you're right about the WD. Not much to focus on. As I intended to use it for mineral photography, I´ll be better off saving some money for a Mitu 10x.

Thanks for your reply Chris R
