This came from an electronic device's motherboard. Hope someone can identifu it.

If it's off a PC motherboard it may be a crystal oscillator. Just a wild guess.
The weld around the perimeter was possibly done with a laser welder or a TIG welder in a vacuum or inert atmosphere. I say that because there's no heat discoloration. The ID markings were probably done with a laser welder but in a normal atmosphere resulting in oxidation from the heat.

Here is some additional information. Initial photo was taken with 10x objective so approx.. dimensions of the component are 1.9mmx2.5mm.
