Beginner Microscope Objective Rig

Post by Deanimator »

I'm about to pull the trigger on a beginning microscope objective rig and have some questions.

I'm planning to use the AmScope PA4XK-V300 4X Plan Achromatic Objective.

I can get:
  1. objective
  2. chipped M42 to Canon EOS EF adapter
  3. The T2-extension Tube Kit for cameras and eyepieces - Length 8mm 15mm 20mm 40mm - M42x0.75
from Amazon.

They however don't have any RMS to M42 adapters.

My two questions are:
  1. Are those the right extension tubes to get?
  2. What is a reliable [preferably U.S.] source for the RMS to M42 adapter?
All-in-all, this seems like a reasonably priced way to get started with objectives, and without having to judge used quality in the bargain.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

The M42 to EOS adapter is probably intended for Pentax-style screw lenses which are 42x1.0 mm.

So you probably need to get 42x1.0 mm extension tubes, not T2-tubes.
