Does Nikon M Plans (210 mm) need any photo eyepiece ?

Post by Marek Mis »

The tittle of my post is the question.
As far as I know the Nikon M Plans do not need any photo eyepiece but I would like to make sure.

No, they dont. They need special extender or epi-illuminator tho, to compensate for thos 50 extra mm. There is one like that on ebay.com atm (not mine):

Hi Marek,

Are you asking about using the Nikon M Plan objectives on a bellows? If so, you are quite correct--they need no compensating optics. As an example, in the first image here is a bellows rig I use with Nikon M Plan objectives (as well as other finite lenses); in the fifth image down, you see (to the right of other lenses), Nikon MPlan 210mm 20x, 40x, and 60x objectives--all work fine with it.

Thank you guys for your prompt replies :)

The objectives will be used with the microscope.
