Hey guys, I'm having trouble with my external speedlite and camera not playing nicely.
I have a Canon 7D and a Yongnuo YN565EX which fires in tandem with my pop-up flash on ETTL mode. On Av or Tv mode my camera should technically compensate for my flash but instead the shutter slows right down and I get a blown out, blurry image.
So I've been stuck on manual which has been mostly ok, but it makes changing conditions more difficult than it needs to be.
Any ideas what's happening?
Camera and flash won't play nice?

Hi mouseandgin, welcome aboard!
I have the same camera and flashgun and they play together nicely with the only issue that my Yongnuo tends to overexpose about 2/3 EV but it's easy to compensate knowing it.
Does this mean controlling the external unit optically as slave?
Go to the camera and flash menus, very likely you have one of them misconfigured.
An idea to avoid the shutter slowing down is to set at the menu C.Fn I-7 Flash sync speed to 1/250 (fixed)
