This is one of the most hairy insects I've ever seen. Perhaps the most hariy.

Impressive pano! That really is one very hairy insect. Can't see all that fluff being anything but a liability, but I guess it acts as shock absorbers when it's flying about.

Wow, looks like a Rock Star from a Heavy Metal Band!!

Seriously, great image sir!! You've got your lighting with those IKEA LED lamps just right, and your Mitty is working nicely....well done!!

What are you using for a tube lens, Raynox 250?

I use reversed Raynox 150

Yes i use IKEA Jansjö :)

I found no detail , but there is a Glaphyrid called Pygopleurus hirsutus.

I can't imagine anything much more hirsutus!

I wonder if anyone can tell me how the Raynox lenses work?
Is it just a flat little lens element that is placed somewhere behind the
microscope lens?

Looks like the tiny part in this aution? Just a flat little lens?

Thay're Triplet designs, Henrik, FLs are 208mm and 125mm.
They work quite well as tube lenses.
