resources for identifying small creatures

Post by markd »

Any recommendations for (biology?) sites for helping ID small creatures?

I know nothing about micro biology and don't even know where to begin really.

Tonight I find some creatures that look like squid, but about .25 mm long. Very crude photo attached, taken through iPhone on stereo micro.Image

Probably a stentor.

This is a good resource: http://microlife.parvarium.com/thumbnails.html

You probably should move this thread to "photography through microscope", " beginner micro" or "Macro and Micro Technique and Technical Discussions".

Thanks. Sorry if wrong place. I'd move it, but don't think I can.
