Lovely lighting and detail. Love the hints of iridescence just starting to show.

Did you choose the 50 micron step size because the image is only displayed at 1024 pixels wide? Obviously that works fine and saves a lot of unneeded stacking and storage, but for larger images or tighter crops the 5x Mitty requires around 15 micron steps in my experience.

Nice work Sharks. I'll need to look up what a Rove Beetle is. Never heard of it. I am definitely getting a motorized rail myself. These last few stacks I have tried are just too deep. 300-500 images captured manually is just too brutal. I am tapping out.

PS: I use 20 microns at 5x magnification. :shock: This value is derived from the classical and wave form formulas posted here on PMG.NET
I'm in Canada! Isn't that weird?

In my experiments, 50 microns is enough for 5 times magnification. Actually this photo was taken with 3x magnification but I forgot to change the micron setting.

BTW original image size 5400 x 3400 pixel
