Hi Polarizers,
crystals, probably calcium carbonate, grow at the carapax (hull) of crustacea, so also of the Amano Shrimps = Caridina multidentata. Sometimes they form very peculiar arrays:

Taken with achromat 40x Water Immersion, stacked with 9xCombineZP, retarder 1230nm.

I like to add another picture. This time it shows a rather uniform crystal in contrast to the first one with a cluster of crystals, about the same overall size. The exuvia is now more desintegrated, so the crystals are better accessible.
